The UNSW Health Translation Hub is a major development within the Randwick Health and Innovation Precinct, created to bring researchers, clinicians, educators and industry partners together in a connected, purpose-built environment. The facility includes research spaces, education and training rooms, clinical schools, ambulatory care clinics, retail amenities and public areas, along with the new UNSW Plaza offering 2,500 square metres of open space with direct pedestrian links to the Kensington Campus and surrounding hospital precinct.
LED Lighting Solutions by Novon
Novon supplied a selection of Australian made and carefully specified LED luminaires to support the Hub’s architectural intent, technical requirements and user comfort. The lighting approach prioritised uniformity, low glare, energy efficiency and long-term reliability across research, education and clinical environments.
Bremer OVOTek LED Troffer
The Australian made Bremer OVOTek LED troffer was selected to provide uniform, low glare illumination across research, training and clinical spaces. Its high transmission diffuser and efficacy of up to 120 lm/W support visual comfort and operational efficiency. Multiple configuration options, including various CCTs, tunable white and dimming control, allow precise alignment with the functional needs of healthcare and education settings. With a long service life and robust construction, OVOTek supports the project’s sustainability, maintenance and lifecycle objectives.
Tubis
Tubis was installed in both surface mount and rod suspended formats to provide clean, consistent illumination throughout corridors, circulation zones and open areas.
Curvis
Curvis was used to enhance internal wayfinding and highlight key architectural forms through smooth, continuous linear illumination.
Regal
Regal adjustable downlights were selected for angled and pitched ceilings, providing precise aiming and consistent illumination along the perimeter of rooms and architectural edges.
These luminaires work together to deliver a visually comfortable, energy-efficient and high-performing lighting solution that supports the educational, clinical and collaborative purpose of the UNSW Health Translation Hub.
